AFTER YOUR COLOR APPOINTMENT

Five habits worth discussing with your colorist.

1. Use hair-care products suited to your service.

Not all color-treated hair needs the same routine. Permanent color, highlights, bleach and glossing affect the hair differently. Ask which shampoo and conditioning approach fits your hair texture and the work performed.

2. Reduce unnecessary heat stress.

Frequent high-temperature styling can leave hair feeling dry and can make color look less vibrant. A heat protectant and gentler styling settings may help, especially after lightening services.

3. Protect your hair outdoors and in the pool.

Sun exposure and frequent swimming can affect tone and dryness. A hat, rinsing after swimming, and appropriate conditioning can be useful habits. Ask Yesi how to care for your particular color.

4. Know what maintenance really means.

Root touch-ups, all-over color and highlights do not all follow the same schedule. The contrast between your natural shade and finished color strongly influences when regrowth becomes noticeable.

5. Keep notes and photos.

Save a picture of the color you love in natural lighting. Tell your stylist what you like—and what you would change—at your next visit. Reference photographs communicate better than generic shade names.

Before a new color appointment

Be ready to share your previous color history, any home dye or bleaching, the style you want, and how often you realistically want to return for maintenance. That conversation helps set expectations for both your result and the appointment length.
